Plantar Fasciitis

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 3:49 PM Comments comments (0)
People ask what is Plantar Fasciitis?   Well it is a condition caused by repeated microscopic injury to the plantar fascia of the foot.

How is it recognized?
It is acutely painful after prolonged immobility.  Then the pain recedes but comes back with extended use.  It usually feels bruiselike and can also have  sharp pain usually in the heel and arch of the foot. And it is usually painful to walk on.

Does Massage Therapy Help?
Yes Bodywork can help release tension in deep calf muscles, (such as the Gastrocnemius and the Soleus) that put strain on the plantar fascia;  it can also help to affect the quality of collagen at the site of the injury.

So don't sit around just hurting, give us a call and let us help get you out of pain...

I wanted to let everyone know that we are starting a new night class on March the 18th.  The classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday nights and having one Saturday class a month and that class is usually on the first Saturday of the Month.  As I sit here today working on the calendar for this class, I am already getting excited for the class to start.  I always look forward to meeting all of the new people that are ready to make a wonderful career change into a field that is truly amazing.  There is not a day that goes by that I don't feel truly blessed to be in a profession that I truly love. Hopefully one day our paths will cross and you too can feel the same way.

2nd day of school.  Now I wished I had paid attention in school!  Trying to name some of these is tuff!  Words like obturator foramen, anterior superior iliac spine, just to name a few, but it was fun with the class and the instructor. The body is wonderfully made.

Getting Excited

Posted on June 21, 2011 at 6:32 PM Comments comments (0)
We are so excited that the school is getting ready to start and we have students that are signed up and ready to go.  We did have to push the date out to the 18th of July, so we could have time for students to get all their paperwork done.  But we are ready now.  If you are interested, please get in touch with us so we can get you signed up and ready to start.  I remember like it was yesterday when I started to massage school.  I was so excited that I couldn't hardy wait for the day to come that we started.  It was so much more than I ever dreamed of.  I couldn't believe all that I had to learn.  Anatomy, Pathology, Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, etc. etc.  I thought how would I ever learn all of that?  But when you are learning something that you really want to know it seems like you are just a sponge and you soak in all that they have to teach you.  Not only did I learn how to give a massage, but learned a lot about myself and about the body.  The neat thing about it, is that I keep learning every day.  It was one of the best decisions I ever made, because I sure LOVE LOVE LOVE my job.  And you can to!!!!!!
